(WENN) - Rocker Bret Michaels has settled his multi-million dollar legal battle with the organizers of the Tony Awards, which stems from an onstage accident in 2009.

The Poison star was hit on the head by a piece of the stage set after performing at the Broadway award show in New York City and he claims the injury contributed to a subsequent brain haemorrhage which nearly cost him his life.

Michaels filed lawsuits against both Tonys bosses and executives at the CBS TV network which broadcast the show, and he has now settled both legal cases out of court.

The terms of the settlement have been kept confidential.

Michaels' attorney Alex Weingarten says in a statement, "Mr. Michaels would like to thank his fans for their continued support," and representatives for CBS and the Tonys called the agreement "an amicable resolution".
