(WLBT) Authorities say a riot at a privately run federal prison in southwest Mississippi which resulted in the death of a guard is now under control.  In addition to the fatality, 16 other correctional officers and three inmates were injured during an inmate uprising at the Adams County Correctional Center in Natchez, Sunday.

Emilee Beach, a spokeswoman for Corrections Corporation of America, who owns and operates the facility, said the disturbance at the Adams County facility ended late Sunday night, hours after it began at 2:40 p.m. Adams County Sheriff Chuck Mayfield said in a statement early Monday morning that there were at least two dozen hostages being held at one time.
