It's hard out there for a vampire high priest.
Courtney Royal, 40, who is serving a life sentence for aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon in Abilene, as well as offenses including escape, burglary of a vehicle, and possession of a weapon inside a prison, has been turned down by a federal appeals court in his bid to practice 'West African spiritualism and 18th Century Catholicism marked by prayer to Africans reincarnated by blood.'
In his motion to the court, Royal said his Vampire religion is no different than what he called 'unproven Christian beliefs.'
