(Erica Ritz) Texas teen Mac Breedlove is “just a young man who thinks [he's] smarter than [he is],” if his apology to a plane of Southwest passengers is to be believed.
The statement came in the middle of a hilarious speech Breedlove’s lacrosse coaches orchestrated, after the young man cut in line while traveling with his team.
The New York Daily News has more information:
Breedlove at first tried to keep the apology short, muttering into the mic “I’m sorry.”
But after some prodding by the flight attendant, he delivered a prepared address about his “great remorse.”
“During the boarding process I took advantage of this airline’s kindness. When some of my teammates were called to the front of the line, I was not. And yet, I cut in line,” he said.
“This is not how my coaches, teammates or parents expect me to behave,” he said earnestly.
As his fellow passengers giggled, Breedlove delivered his final salve. “I hope you will all find it in your hearts to forgive me. For I am just a young man that thinks I am smarter than I am.”

“Enjoy your flight, and remember: fly Southwest, because they let my coach do this for me,” Mac concluded to scattered applause.
